"I always wondered why 'somebody' didn't do something.
Then I realized I was that somebody."
- Lily Tomlin
If you have IBS or are affected by IBS in any way, IFFGD created IAMIBS.org for you. In addition to our awareness and education efforts we are working to further science that will help bring about new and better treatments and hopefully cures for IBS.
Since our founding in 1991, we have been a voice advocating for research, in government and in private industry, on behalf of individuals with digestive related disorders.
The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the largest funder of medical research. While we have made progress in encouraging more NIH research into IBS, it still falls short of what is needed.
Since 2003, IFFGD has been directly supporting research through awards and grants. This helps encourage researchers to enter the field, to stay in the field, and to search for new ideas aimed at prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Through IFFGD, patients, families, social and employment networks, any person or business that wants to do something may become more effectively engaged in helping to improve the health of the men, women, and children affected by IBS - and the health of their community.
Numbers count. Become part of the process of discovery. Play a vital role in fulfilling the promise of a healthier future. Every person, every dollar counts. Your contribution will make a difference. Step forth. Be counted.
Donate now . . . because the difference between caring and curing is you.
IFFGD is a registered charitable foundation qualified under U.S. IRS code section 501(c)3. Find out more about our research efforts here.
